ODRAZ started with the implementation of the EU project "Leaps of knowledge - engaged community"!

By participating in the solemn assignment of the contract for approved projects from Call for proposals named "Supporting the development of partnerships of civil society organizations and higher education institutions for the implementation of socially useful learning programs", held on 19th of March 2018 at the House of Europe in Zagreb, ODRAZ started with the implementation of the new project funded from European Social Fund 2014-2020. A 24-month project will be conducted in partnership with organisation Life Potential, Faculty of Economics and Business and  Faculty of Graphic Arts University of Zagreb.

The project "Leaps of knowledge - engaged community" The faculties and civil society organizations for the sustainable development of local communities, will enable the students of Faculty of Economics and Business and Faculty of Graphic Arts University of Zagreb to acquire new knowledge and skills for community development by establishing a sustainable program of socially useful learning and cooperation with CSOs and between faculties. The project includes students and teachers from two faculties and 20 associations in which the method of socially useful learning at the eight courses will be implemented.

Through educational workshops, trainings and student work on specific tasks with mentoring support in associations wants to improve promotion and management in associations and increase social responsibility and contribute to community development.

The aim of the call "Supporting the development of partnerships of civil society organizations and higher education institutions for the implementation of socially useful learning programs"  is to increase the number of students with acquired practical knowledge and skills to address specific social problems and community development. It emphasizes the importance of cooperation between higher education institutions and civil society organizations in the education of socially responsible and active citizens, thus contributing to the overall development and improvement of the community.

Socially useful learning is recognized as an effective way of connecting students and higher education teachers to civil society organizations and across the community, and as an important incentive to find the first job after graduation.

24 associations signed contracts for financing projects, while three additional associations would do so in the coming days. Projects worth HRK 27 million are co-financed by the European Social Fund and from the State Budget to the position of the Office for Cooperation with NGOs.
