A round table and an interactive workshop on Global Sustainable Development Goals held in Zagreb

On May 31, 2019, the closing event of the First Generation 2019 project was held in the Tree of Knowledge of the Student Center in Zagreb. On a round table "Working with Youth to Agenda 2030" 50 participants (representatives of associations, teachers, professors, young people) listened to ideas and recommendations for the common design of the future of all of us. This was also an opportunity for youth participation in the discussion of desirable guidelines, the Sustainable Development Goals and the future of the EU.

The event was part of the ODRAZ project ˝Youth ideas on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Croatia˝.

The panel was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, the scientific institutes, the City of Zagreb, companies and non-governmental organizations, and most important of all the students from primary and secondary schools. This year, students were supposed to create a poster that relates to one of the 17 Global Sustainable Development Goals and directly or indirectly touches climate and climate change.

With this event we marked European Week of Sustainable Development, a European initiative that has been successfully implemented for the fifth year from 30 May to 5 June across Europe with the aim of encouraging and visibility of activities, projects and events that promote sustainable development and Sustainable Development Goals.

The participants received a brochure and a comic book on Sustainable Development Goals that were printed with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs within the project ˝Youth ideas on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Croatia˝.
